Journey to the Netherworld

Each different religion has its own unique take on the afterlife. In Taoism, the concept of the afterlife is quite complex. Journey to the Netherworld usually includes trials, where the deceased may encounter various deities and be evaluated or judged based on their actions during their lifetime. Journey to the Netherworld is not a reproduction of Taoist mythology, but a cognitive reconstruction. Using the immersive language of VR, the netherworld universe of Taoism is transformed into a science classroom. The underworld is no longer a horror legend. What the audience enters is not a world of belief, but a cognitive space designed with gamified logic.

This is a virtual world inspired by traditional Asian palaces. I used the structure of a traditional palace as a reference and added many structural variations and imagery. I have created a palace at sunset. The middle area is an office building , the upper left and upper right areas are residential areas, the lower left area is an area for watching a play or any program, and the lower right area is a garden. History is no longer sealed in time, but is incarnated as an invitation: to come in, to touch it, to feel it.
